Our mission is to educate, enrich, and instill a love of music in the children of our region by introducing them to opera through a lively production that blends classic opera excerpts with a humorous, interactive script.

We've performed our show, Opera the Great!, in schools and other venues throughout Clark County and beyond. Our performers—five young professional singers and a pianist—are all educators by nature and training. We created Opera the Great! with specific goals; for example, students learn opera history, characters, and famous melodies. Since kids learn best through participation, our script lets them try out opera gestures and singing styles, and join the chorus. Some even get to come onstage as opera characters.

We offer the production at little or no cost to schools. Funding comes from grants and donations of all levels. Our behind-the-scenes work is done by a team of dedicated volunteers, and we enjoy community partnerships with many organizations including Washington State University-Vancouver.

Every principal consistently tells me this is one of the most engaging and delightful assemblies they have hosted.
— Don Nelson, Manager of Music and Fine Arts for Evergreen Public Schools
